Tune: Old Hundredth
('All people that on earth do dwell')
Psalm 131
*********
LORD, see my heart, it not haughty
An my eyes they not be lofty
I have not made it my concern
To take on things too hard to learn
Nor do I take up things to high
For me to understand, espy
Surely I have behaved myself
As a little child, this my wealth
Like a weaned child e'en is my soul
Trusting you, you will make me whole
Let Israel hope, all God's people
In the LORD e'er and on Him call
Give us wisdom, simplicity
Not burdened in complexity
But simple servants, lovingly
Guide us through all eternity

Childlike, not childish, nor as a child being naughty.
May your pen be always full O.
Thanks M.
and may your nib always sharp O.
Thanks Neville. I threw my toys out of the pram childishly - at age [over 21]?!
simplicity is always the answer Orchi - an interesting and upbuilding write my friend.
Thanks Fay.
Yes, WISDOM to know and act.
Knowledge, Wisdom and Action, lack of any, makes us unworthy.
Thanks Suresh.
Grand old HYMN ~ UNCLE STEVE ~ very powerful lyric. Our Minds are filled with these old Hymns ! It keeps ius on the straight & narrow ! Love PSALM 131 ~ A challenge !
O GOD I have failed ~ because ...........
I expected too much of MYSELF !
O GOD I have fallen ~ because ...........
I focussed too much on SUCCESS !
It is much better when centre our aspirations
On GOD & His Will for Our Lives ~ AMEN !
Blessings & Joy for FIDO & YOURSELF
Love as always ANGELA & BRIAN 🧡 + 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thanks B&A.
I would like to think that wisdom and simplicity would come to everyone. Good write.
