Looking Just to See

Neville

Looking Just to See

It was while he was looking

Just to see

He smiled the easy smile

He would later

Become known for

You know the one

That made his eyes burn bluer

Than the bluest of blues

For the briefest of moments

He saw them both savored

And wasted

Infinitely etched and indelibly

Traced without so much as a hint

Of definition like the finest of fine

Cobwebs and each

One of them was smiling

It was there draped

Much like silk

Upon his opaque lenses

Such fraught filigrees now clouding

Those fondest of memories complete

Though now much truer than

The very truest true

Yes twas then a cry was sounded

Yes he had a voice indeed

And through it whispered

Let it be recorded now

In ciphers codes and alphabets

In Roman

Rune and ancient hieroglyph

Let us ne’er forget dear friends

To call such moments poetry

To recall with the minds eye, that which has been filed away as memories, that is so well recorded by words that form this poetry

This verse leads us into a memory with the expertise of a true wordsmith dear Nev.. Bluest of eyes encounter an experience that etches itself indelibly in the heart's eyesight as a moment of poetry which your pen now shares with compelling intrigue - applause for a true masterclass in writing my friend...................... x Fay
