BELLS RING OUT

Michael Edwards

BELLS RING OUT

I play it

I listen to it

Anytime.

I hear her voice

My neck hairs rise

And bells ring out for Christmas day

I love his voice

His gravelly voice

And when he sings

I sing along

And bells ring out for Christmas day.

There is a reason why the music of those holidays is eternal, for they excite an emotion which makes us smile.
    Well said, my friend

I actually don't really think of Fairytale of New York as being a Christmas number - I can play it anytime - rousing stuff and I'm usually only listen to Classical.

I vaguely recall The Pogues but do not know them well.
I cannot deal with the C word this early in the year.

As I said in reply to Suresh I don't really regard Fairytale of New York as being a Christmas piece - I can listen to it anytime.

        I share your passion sir..

and still wince when I think back to Kirsty Mackoll's so tragic and premature demise... N

Some music raises the hairs on my neck too - a thrilling sense of wonder as indeed the Fairytale of New York does too - - love the picture of your summer garden Michael.

Thanks Fay - the garden is at its best at the moment - so much colour and full of bees.

          • ANGELA & BRIAN

THANKS UNCLE MIKE : ANGELA here : Love the POGUES and all things CHRISTMAS. As you know December 25 was NOT the actual Date of the Incarnation but it was an agreed *Date of Convenience* set by the Catholic Church (POPE Julius) in the 4th Century AD. people whose Birthday falls on 25th December are allowed to celebrate their BIRTHDAY on 25th JULY ! I love CHRISTMAS and the all Year Round Christmas Shops in GERMANY : Awesome ! Because Brian attends an Evangelical Church they dont follow the Strict Church Callender and can sing Carols all through the Year ~ AMEN !
Love the PICTURE and the mention of (the symbiosis) BEES & FLOWERS ! It is another reminder of the very complex FOOD CHAINS & FOOD WEBS which keeps Planet Earth as a Living Planet ! I have milk with MANUKA (NZ) HONEY every night ! Its 10am (Thursday) and my first Clinic is 11pm so I must sign off & get off to WORK !

Blessings & Peace & Love to You & Yours
Love through Poetry : ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
