Two Drivers.

Goldfinch60

Driving happily along the road,

Listening to Chet Baker,

Life was good.

A new beat came into the song.

As I drove along

The louder it became,

That is not in time I thought,

Surely it is wrong.

But no the beat was there,

Beating its own time,

Getting louder and louder.

Chet always plays in time,

So why not this time?

Is it a bad recording?

The beat was getting louder

And then all became clear,

As I passed the pile driver

At the side of the road

Beating its own time.

It surely was, I was convinced the sound was coming from the recording.

      Thank you Neville.

There was a programme on telly. Who are the culprits - bad cyclists or bad drivers, or both? Please excuse me. I am recovering after nearly being mown down by a motorised wheelchair driver! Some of us have our own problems being on the pavement, let alone the roads.

Ha ha - that happened to me once Andy - a bit disconcerting to say the least. - Love the number you chose though.

Thank you Fay, yes it is disconcerting when somebody interrupts Chet.

Never heard of a pile driver being musical, but when the mind is in a certain place, it like its own space.

My mind is in all sorts of places Suresh.

THANKS UNCLE ANDY ~ We love Chet Baker ~ a very mellow HORN & always perfect timing ! Ive had that happen when a recording has bee acompanied by another beat ~ SPOOKY ! Sometines you can pinpoint the intrusion ~ as you did but at other times it remains a mystery ! Even more SPOOKY ! Of course it could just be a disembodied ORCHII singing ACABELLO !

Thank you A and B, yes it can be quite spooky at times.
Chet is my favourite jazz trumpeter, he always speaks to me.
