A useful slogan which I quite like:
Motorists - Think Bike!
but the one I prefer which gets the gold star
Cyclists - Think Car!

- Comment from author about the poem: Am I the only one who gets so irritated when I see that 'Think Car' slogan good though it is. Many cyclists have such bad road sense and seem quite oblivious of other road users and would certainly never pass a test. I must count to ten.

With you all the way re. some of the two-wheel road users - - around here they are becoming a hazard - - my smile was restored though by your wonderful watercolour -- great piece again Michael.
Two abreast oblivious of cars behind, regularly ignoring the cycle lanes, cycling in the middle of the carriageway, weaving between traffic, undertaking, often with headphones so they can't hear traffic approaching from behind, always the car drivers who get the blame - never the cyclists - oh I could go on !! And Yes this is the second version of this particular scene that I've done.
I got me own problems on the path, with motorised wheelchairs - and some cyclists!
Another curse - okay I should be tolerant (it might be me one day) but sadly a few inconsiderate users give them all a bad name.
Cyclists and motorcyclist, and now motorized scooters users feel entitled, as if playing a "dare" game.
Michael,
I love the painting!
I totally agree with your poem’s slogans! BIKE LANES...a controversial issue in my Aunt’s community among the residents! Those that want them are winning the battle!
~Laura~
We have them everywhere and they are hardly used at all to the detriment of clogged up traffic lanes.
Pleased you like the painting - will reply later to your email.
We have one just outside our village which is just 3 metres long - it starts fron nowhere and ends nowhere. People have been taking photos of it - it's perfectly pointless.
Bikers can be a right pain in the proverbial. When any occasionally stop at a red traffic light I feel like cheering - not that I have seen it happen in the last millennia.
Nor are you likely to - and if anyone thinks they can get me on a bike wearing Lycra and those ridiculous looking helmets - never in a million years. Not that I'll live that long!
You've seen my brother on his bike then!
