Temple Tenancy

Tune: Austrian Hymn

('Praise the Lord, ye heavens adore Him')

John 2 v.13-22

********

Jesus went to Jerusalem

To the Temple, and saw them

Sellers of oxen, doves, and sheep

Money changers seats did keep

Righteous anger, he said, Take these

Things out, do not as you please

Make not my Father's house of prayer

Of merchandise, it unfair

For you turn it to den of thieves

Your sharp practice and deceives

He drove them out, whip of small cords

To cast out their treasures, hordes

Then disciples did remember

How he for Temple did care

For it is His Father's house sure

Zeal he had that it stay pure

And to Jews he said, destroy here

This Temple, it will appear

Again after three days passing

Restored shall be everything

Though earthly Temple forty-six

Years in building, mortar, bricks

Yet He spoke of His own body

The Temple of God it be

For He was raised to life again

Resurrection hope shown then

He had come, lived, died, and risen

Giving hope unto all men (mankind)

We too Lord, your living temples

Though we without bricks and walls

But your Spirit in us dwelling

We unto you worship bring

Good Evening UNCLE STEVE thanks for Hymn ~ well known tune & great words ! Love the passage of Scripture you have paraphrased ! In 2000 my parents took me to OBERAMAGAU for the Passion Play ~ AWESOME. One experienced Raw Righteous Indignation ! The LORD overturned the MONEY TABLES and released th DOVES ! As the Money lenders were scrabbling on the floor for their shekels he beat them out of the Temple with a scourge and all his anger uttered in gutteral German to heighten the Drama ! It wasn't JESUS Meek & Mild ~ more like Shriek & Wild !

          Thanks for challenging
Blessings for You und Deiner HUNDT
