ENGLAND ~ one quarter of the
NATION of Great Britain ~ gave a
GREAT Cricket performance over the
LAST eleven weeks ~ to be crowned
AS World Cricket Champions 2019 !
NOBODY fully understands the .......
DEVIOUSNESS of CRICKET !
WE played very well in every match
IN the Series ~ until at last we faced
NEW ZEALAND ~ in the FINAL ! In
NEW ZEALAND ~ ANGELA was supporting .......
ENGLAND ! And our Captain OWEN MORGAN !
SUCH DRAMA ~ ENGLAND Winners ~ last ball of
SUPER OVER ~ OVER SUPER !

We are all very excited in ENGLAND ! ENGLAND is the Birthplace
and Home of Cricket and this is the first time England have won !
At the School I went to we took Cricket very seriously and we had
all the right gear ! Cricket Whites & Cricket Boots and Pads etc.
It is an expensive Sport a decent Bat can cost £500 = $650 !
AMERICANS ~ who like everything instant ~ can never understand
how a TEST MATCH can last Eleven Days ! Love A & B 🧡 🧡 🧡
In this Cricket Championship each Team played 50 overs (300 balls)
NEW ZEALAND batted first and scored 241 runs which ENGLAND had
to beat ! At the end of Englands fifty overs they also had scored 241
runs ~ A DRAW ! But someone had to win ! So a SUPER OVER (six balls)
was PLAYED ! England played first and scored 15 ! New Zealand also
scored 15 ! STALEMATE ! BUT in the 50 over match ENGLAND had
scored more BOUNDARIES ~ so after much nail biting drama
ENGLAND WON THE WORLD CRICKET CUP 2019 ~ AMEN !

ALAS My Friend ~ we have never won it ! We were in the FINAL against PAKISTAN a few years ago ! Because we invented Cricket it was fitting that we won it despite the STALEMATE situation ! Cricket is totally unpredictable as befits a BRITISH GAME !

A great afternoons sport, I was watching both the cricket and the Wimbledon Men's Tennis final. Both wonderful matches and they virtually finished at the same time. I had to go and have a stiff Scotch after that to calm down.
ANGELA HERE : HI UNCLE ANDY : 9:30 pm (Tuesday) here relaxing after work ! Sometime Sport delivers exactly what it says on the TIN ! That was true of Mens Tennis Final (I was routing for Roger cos hes even older than Brian !). Because NZ is 12 hours ahead timewise we had to get up @ 5 am Monday to see the end of the Match life on TV at the Cricket Club. Ruth & I and quite a few recent immigrants had our Crosses of St George ! It was electric and god natured because it was won on a technicality (most boundaries) ! Cricket lovely Cricket ! I played Cricket @ the Girls Private School I attended in London so I really do understand it ! There are now even ex-pat Cricket Teams in SPAIN !
