There they were
Sitting side by side,
Not a mobile to be seen.
He was reading a letter,
She was doing a crossword,
Not a word crossed their lips.

And then the other day you saw someone who did not stop talking!
A fine write Gold. I suppose things are necessary in this day and age.
But, as we know - I saw someone crossing the road on their text-phone thingy, oblivious to traffic!
I saw someone on his 'phone trip into a fountain!
Oh lol. And just watch out for those motorised wheelchairs too, coming at ya at 100mph!

Silent sips
no moving lips
with silent scripts
their thoughts eclipse.
Their days became bored
but the coffee must be poured
and pass thought their lips
that once when they kissed.
Turning into a Fusion lol
Great reply.
That is just how I like to enjoy my coffee - fifteen minutes of silence.
Persistence is key
Silence is wonderful.
Sometimes, it can be the healthiest thing for us.
Persistence is key
Hi Goldfinch.
A superb poem and thank you.
The simple pleasures of life are so enjoyable.
However, social media challenges this a great deal.
Keep writing

Wonderful observation Andy Thank you
Very true Andrew.
So nothing has changed
So it seems.
Andy,
‘Not a word crossed their lips’ because they valued and respected their “Silent Coffee Time”!
Loved the Johnny Cash song! He’s one of my favorites!
