THE HUMAN EYE IS AN AMAZING ORGAN ~ IN BOTH FORM & FUNCTION ~ THEY SEE IN 3D
IN MOTION AND IN THOUSANDS OF SHADES ! NEVER TAKE YOUR EYES FOR GRANTED !
I like RED ~ YOU like BLUE
We both like ~ rainbows too
Red - Orange - Yellow - Green & Blue
And flowers with a PURPLE hue
Every colour has a meaning
RED for DANGER ~ GREEN for GO !
BLACK for DARK in Caves & Forests
WHITE for BRIGHT as WHITE as SNOW
We have a Friend whose name is Paul
And he has been BLIND for birth
Never seen no colours at all ~ BLUE Skies
RED Balls or BROWN the colour of the EARTH !
And so I asked PAUL ~ What is RED ?
Its when Im warm & snug in BED !
And ORANGE ? Its a Fruit you squeeze !
And GREEN ? The smell and feel of TREES !
And BLUE the SKY & BLUE the SEA
Thats how the colours seem to ME !
And what of MAUVE ~ I asked with trepidation ?
Ahhhhh PURPLE is GOD*s COLOUR ! He said sans hesitation !
So PAUL saw all the colours in his MIND
He FELT each RAINBOW colour ~ although always BLIND
By taste - by touch - by sound - by scent ~ each HUE intenses
NATURE always compensates ~ if we lose ONE of SENSES

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS ~ Happy Weekend ! Enjoy Saturday whatever the Weather ~ sometimes the rain enhances Natures amazing colours ! Cherish Sunday ~ it used to be a DAY of REST & Peace & Quiet ! Its 11am for ME (BRIAN ~ UK) meeting friends for Lunch and then a stroll in the Country ! Its 11pm for ME (ANGELA ~ NZ) Ive been sailing in the BAY with RUTH and her Cousins. Just having a Hot Milk with MANUKA HONEY before Bed ! Hve a nice DAY !

Just pray it don't rain! But why? Cos it starts me singing: …...'Showers of mercy and grace, Falling on every face, There is freedom'. Ooh, part a chorus type song from me, not from around 1066!

THANKS CHRIS ~ Pleased you eanjoyed it ! We boh love all the colours in Nature and also the man-made colours of everyday life. Our Parents tell us they remember when TV was in Black & White which made it difficult to watch SPORT especially SNOOKER ! SNOOKER is like POOL but with lots of coloured BALLS ! Sunday has been a good day for both of us REST ~ PLAY & WORSHIP

A wonderful reminder of the gift of colour in our lives - thank you too for informing us about the colours that Paul although unsighted can feel - - - a humbling read.
Thanks FAY pleased you enjoyed ~ we know you like poems about PEOPLE. People who go blind in later life are of course cognizant of colour. People like PAUL learn it by association (like ORANGE = AN ORANGE !) and form a mental picture of colour which they then associate with texture & scent & taste etc. It is an interesting study because each Blind Persons perception of colour is different except for ORANGE ! As you say it does make one HUMBLE !

THANKS UNCLE ANDY ~ Yes indeed the whole subject of colour & dyestuffs & piments etc is very fascinating ! I (BRIAN) studied Textle Chemistry at one time so I had to know all about the relationship between Dyes & Fabrics ~ fascinating. We take dyestuffs etc for granted and we (especialy the Ladies) expect to find everything ~ in any colour ! natures colours have of course always bbeen with us ~ AMEN
