I have to get up very soon
Why am I still writing poetry?
Tonight the thoughts keep flowing
from that creative side of me
I think about life and love
and everything in between
I marvel at all the wonderful
things that I have seen
But deep down I
wonder if I am manic
And gonna be up all night
"Need to sleep!", I say as I panic
I think of all the things
I could be doing but I need to get to bed
It's crazy how I fight sleep
and how fast ideas go through my head

I know where you are coming from in this. For me poetry could never be a 9 - 5 job. Rather it is a thing which attacks me and demands to be passed on.
Exactly! Thanks so much dusk, for your reply to my poem. Appreciated! Christina
Torrent of ideas seem to flow just at the wrong time, and if we don't adhere to them, then like me, afraid to loose them forever.
But when these ideas are laid to rest, so do they lay us to deep slumber as well.
Thanks for your reply, Suresh. Appreciated!--Christina
