Peace With God

Romans 5 v.1-2

I true believe in Christ the Son

Work of salvation He has done

Upon the cross He died for me

That I from all my sins be free

 

And so by faith we justified

Who all in Christ believe, confide

And thus have peace with God, 'tis through

Jesus the Son, for me and you

 

By Jesus too we have access

By faith into God's grace no less

And stand herein, in hope rejoice

To share His glory, we His choice

 

Come to me, Spirit, where heart be

Selfish, do search, that willingly

I turn from my will unto you

And do what you desire anew

 

I cannot my good works now bring

To you that they me save, nothing

Shall avail save Christ's death for me

Risen with Him I redeemed be

 

No punishment, no purgatory

Of self, no use shall it be see

Fro Christ does save, and He alone

My place takes, does for me atone

    A comfort, I hope - not a 'licence to sin' though. Our good works follow salvation, but do not earn it. This is my Christian/Protestant/CofE view.

        Thanks N. I do get dogmatic sometimes (woof says Fido: an automatic dog?), or call it 'fundamental'. But I can't see the way ahead in life by depending on self.
        Meanwhile, a guy got too intense about life. He went to the doc about it. Doc said 'Well, stop camping then, and living in tents'(intense)! lol. Is that the sort of doc we need?

          you are far from being alone in that thought Orchidee... I think that is where my path has the upper hand .. there not being any single great architect of the universe, but rather a way of life and living that provides rewards along the way to eventual enlightenment ....

          Therfore having been justified by FAITH
          We have PEACE with GOD
          And rejoice in the hope of the GLORY of GOD
          We also have access by FAITH into the GRACE we enjoy 24/7 !
