ARE WE ALL BORROWERS & LENDERS ? ANGELA & BRIAN ~ A Double Nonnet (18 lines)

ANGELA & BRIAN

LENDING SOMEONE A GOOD BOOK ~ CAN CHANGE THEIR LIVES ~ YES !

NEITHER a Borrower nor a lender be !

Said William Shakespeare once to You & Me

For Borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry !

I might be able to BUY it tomorrow

But for today ~ I yours must borrow !

I*ll give it back intact ~ there*ll be no sorrow

So let*s be Lendin* & Borrowin* Fools ~ most borrowed

Are garden equipment ~ household tools

Lendin* & Borrowin* has tribal rules !

Next comes FOOD ~ a massive list

Beers ~ Lagers ~ Wines & Brahms & Liszt (CD's !)

Milk & Sugar & Eggs & Bread

Easy to Borrow ~ not shop instead

My next door Geezer has a massive ~ FREEZER !

Kitchen appliances ~ next on the list ~ Mixers &

Whiskers wont be missed ~ Microwaves & Cookers (slow)

But If I roger the FUSE ~ My NEIGHBOUR will BLOW !

So please Borrow & Lend ~ BUT MIND HOW YOU GO ! ! !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments please ~ Love Angela & Brian ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

When I (BRIAN) lived in Liverpool we lent & borrowed everything ~

I guess it was the Irish Influence !  We had one wheelbarrow in the

Street ~ it was just available ~ someone had nicked it from Work !

The same was true of Mixers & Blenders and one was always being

sent *next door* (and vice versa) for a Loaf or some Eggs or for the

ubiquitous *cup of sugar*. In Essex my parents have *POSH* devices

like HEDGE TRIMMERS and LEAF BLOWERS but are always ready to

lend them if requested ~ and will always lend one of their CARS if

there is a need. Do you LEND & BORROW or does everyone in your

Street already have everything they need or are too proud to ask ?

Shakespeare may very poetic, etc. but some of his sayings are suspect to me, and worldly-wise. Even Einstein got into spooky or weird reading.
There's: 'The borrower is servant to the lender' in Proverbs somewhere.
I will nip round to borrow that leaf blower if I may. What, with leaves on the tree in Summer?! lol.

Youre welcome UNCLE STEVE but its probably a 400 mile round trip and thats a long way on a BIKE with a TRAILER ! I agree with you about W Ss Philosophy ! Jesus was much more user friendly ! He said *If someone wants to borrow your SUIT ~ give him your OVERCOAT as well !*

Blessings for You & Yout Hairy Friend !

I tried to lend a dog-owner Fido's overcoat, but Fido would have none of it, and barked fiercely at me. Oohh, he's temperamental at times. lol.

As a lad everyone loaned and borrowed but now in a 'posh' village everyone can afford whatever they need. However if a hand is needed for a difficult task there is always someone to call on - time moves on.

Ahhhhhhhhh yes UNCLE MIKE : The *Old Lend a Hand Ploy !* is still very much alive & well ! the days when only ONE Family in the Street has a Wheelbarrow or a hedge Trimmer etc are long gone ! Now such things appear on the ubiquitous Wedding Lists (From JOHN LEWIS of course !) However because My (BRIAN) Parents have lived in the same House for nearly 20 years they often lend things (like a hedge strimmer) and borrow things like a heavy duty branch lopper ! Angela & I already have quite a few things ~ so we have decided to ask People to make a donation to the ANGELA & BRIAN SURVIVAL FUND ~ 50% of which will go to the Local YMCA Foyer for which I am a FUND RAISER ! Watch this Space !

Blessings & Love to YOU & YOURS

Developing countries have now all caught on to the system of lending, and caused billions to become borrowers, in order to create instant economic growth, and the world economies are now intertwined.
Beware, when one sneezes, the rest catch the cold.

Thanks for your comment SURESH and the problem you have highlighted ! *Buy now & Pay ~ LATER !* Angela & I dont own a House yet ~ so we have no debts. We own our cars and always pay off our Credit Cards at the end of each Month. Our Parents taught us always to live within Our Means ! We are not against having a Mortgage but we may rent at first as we may emigrate to Spain or New Zealand or ?

Peace & Joy & Love to You & Yours

We live in a small town, but if we need a cup of sugar we just go to the store and buy sugar! LOL I guess it's just not like the "good ole days" when neighbors could be neighbors.

Thanks CHRIS ~ Yes indeed things have changed. My Grandparents told me that in the 1930s and especially during WW2 (1939 - 45) people would always share what they had. No one had a car so a walk to the shops & back could take an hour so it was much easier to BORROW & LEND ~ they said in the end it all worked out even ! Not everyone had a grass mower (which you pushed !) or a barrow etc. In the UK our houses are much closer together than in the US ~ but even so some dont know their NEIGHBOURS. Weddings & Funerals & Parties where much more Community Events apparently and if someone went on Holiday ~ Then a NEIGHBOUR would look after their Chucks or Cats or Dogs for them ~ much more FELLOWSHIP than today. TV also keeps poeple indoors and everybody has one ! Thanks for your comment pleased you enjoyed the post ! We are both OK but sad at being 11,500 miles apart ! Thinking of you all !

              Abrazos y Besos a Tu y Tus !
