Kew Gardens

FineB

I walked through the Botanical gardens at Kew,

Nature all around me was at the height of its beauty on display,

Captivated I was by the foliage, fauna, flowers and plants all around me,

The sun beamed brilliantly upon the botanical world and its splendid colourful array.

Through treetops I walked high up in the sky,

I breathed in the fresh atmosphere and Kew air,

In the sweltering greenhouse I was transported to the floral and green continents of the world.

Sweating profusely, I was enveloped in this hypnotic intoxicating affair.

Around the green botanical gardens at Kew I discovered heaven,

The natural world around here an incredible sight to behold,

A green pleasure palace for everyone green fingered or not,

Nature is a journey before you waiting to unfold.

  • Comment from author about the poem: In all the years that I lived in London I finally made it to Kew Botanical Gardens this weekend taking advantage of the warm weather. Nature at Kew is so breathtaking. If you are around in London and want to see and do something interesting visit Kew Gardens. Enjoy!

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

Good evening FRIEND - Brian & I love KEW GARDENS and have visited several times and also the University Botanical Gardens @ Cambridge which are only 50 miles from Essex as is Kew. We have both studied Botany (Brian moreso than me) and Ecology so we are both very interested in Gardens wherever we are in the World (Im still in New Zealand til October !) Brian teaches Plant Science (Horticulture) at College and has a big allotment for the students to use. Pleased you enjoyed KEW. We have also spent a week @ the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Helligan in Devon - very exciting for anyone intersted in *The Life of Plants* We loved your Poem & enthusiasm for Plants !

    Blessings & Peace & Joy
    Yours Angela & Brian ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

      Hello Angela and Brian,

I am glad you enjoyed the poem.

Wow you both studied botany, Kew Gardens really is a nirvana for you both.

I have never been to the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan but one day perhaps.

After having visited Kew yesterday I realised you have to take time out from your hectic life to just enjoy life and smell the roses and embrace nature.

        Good colourful write FineB.
I have never been to Kew but have been to other gardens around the country. It is wonderful to see all those colours.
The best 'garden' that I like though is when I walk in the wild gardens of nature.

          Hi Goldfinch60,

          Glad you enjoyed the poem.

When I go on a walk with my rambling group experiencing nature in the open countryside can be breathtaking and unforgettable too!
