As I travelled through my life
I had a road before me
That I knew I would travel,
There were forks,
Forks in that path.
Which one should I take?
I would choose one
Which took me close,
Close but not where I wanted to go.
At each fork I would move,
Move further from my road.
I came to that time,
That time where I stopped,
Stopped travelling
And came to the place I am.
I may not have gone to where I intended to go,
But I have ended up where I needed to be
And I am so glad to be here,
Here in this place.

Good write Gold. It's tricky taking a path at a fork, if we've not been along it before. Sometimes we may just head in a 'general direction', e.g. in woods - look for the big tree; or group of 3 trees; or the holly bush, etc. as sign-posts.
Thanks Orchi, there are many paths in our lives.
Well, there's many trees in the woods, we know, but I may mean some trees bigger than others. Doh!
We can't ask more than that in life - I also have ended in a good place but it doesn't happen by accident - we all have to work at it - enjoyed the write.
Thank you Michael, yes it does take work to achieve it but we have both ended in a good place in spite of problems along the way.
What better place to be in than where you want to be - an appealing write Andy.
Thank you Fay, much appreciated.
That sir is a very good read. Immediately i thought of the book "The road less traveled" where i learned much.
Some might think that to write such a piece the author would be smug.... but no sir not you. Your writing reveals a very humble down to earth soul who has indeed traveled far spiritually.
Thank you for your wonderfully kind words d a, they are very much appreciated.
when you get to that special place, dont ya just know it.....
You have penned a perfect acceptance poem here GF60 ..
Neville
Yes, you certainly do know it Neville, in spite of any problems I have been highly fortunate in my life.
Andy,
I like the way you think...
and write!
I guess most of us end up where we need to be! I never thought I’d be where I am right now, but here I am...
and will be as long as I’m needed!
My love to Joyce and to you!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura, I believe we can all be surprised where we end up in life but are grateful to be there.
Andy
...lets uncork a bottle.
Rioja of course. Your good health Suresh.
It is good that you are happy and more than accepting of the place that you are at in your life....enjoyed the write, Andy!
Thank you Christina, much appreciated.
