Whatever The Weather

Tune: Laudate Dominum

('O praise ye the Lord')

********

Rain fall heavy, light

Or sunshine beam bright

In all seasons here

Unto us appear

Help us witness of you

To great and small true

Go forth, share the gospel

It avails to all

Come, Spirit, revive

Though we not contrive

To copy your ways

In human strength, days

But your life and power

Fill us every hour

Spirit do here abide

In our hearts reside

Rain falls on the just

And too on unjust

Sun shines on the good

And though we think should

Be from wicked withheld

Yet free, uncompelled

It shines on them too, see

So God's mercies be

All life is in you

You great God and true

We cannot dictate

What will be your state

But you bid us ask, pray

Unto you words say

And hear and your sheep, you

Our good Shepherd true

Bread of life, us feed

You all that we need

Water of life flow

To all here below

Sustainer, Creator

Unto our aid stir

Saviour and Redeemer

With you we concur

I see this as less of a hymn poem and more of a poem praising some spiritual figurehead.... tis the last stanza or verse that kinda reminds the reader of its hymn origin and background......... Neville

Yes indeed. Thanks Neville. I'm still playing Bingo too - 5,6,10,11's. I'm getting greedy now. I'll have all the numbers soon!

Good write but I daren't remark on this after the poem that I have just pit on the site.

Thanks Gold. I could 'hide' behind some words. I mean, e.g. just because one is in a garage, one is not necessarily a car! Yet maybe as some do, if you wish to, you may comment on the style, etc of my poems, apart from the religious/spiritual meaning of them.

        Another bright write Orchi.

Thanks M. I put the hymn tune as the title too - amended now.
