Looking To Love

orchidee

Tune: Crucifer

('Lift high the cross')

*******

Chorus

Lord, look on us, and our afflictions see

Helped by your sustaining grace we shall be

Lord, look on me, things body, spirit, soul

Whate'er my needs, come heal and make me whole - Chorus

Lord, look on nations, help us know your way

Lead us unto the light of lasting day - Chorus

Forgive where we sin, by Christ's cleansing blood

We set free, redeemed, by that full sparkling flood - Chorus

Help us take up cross daily, self deny

As you went before us, still your presence nigh - Chorus

Seeking to use each hour, and waste none

In learning, growing, [in] image of Christ your Son - Chorus

He who did live, die, and then rose again

Gospel news, salvation, now to all men (mankind) - Chorus

Your pen never fails - keep it filled.

Thanks M. Well, me propelling pencil thing blew up after one poem. The spring bust in it or something. Always dodgy if ya spring busts, yes?!

When my spring busts I wet myself - can you get a new one on the NHS?

There could never be any way better than your chosen title today - "Looking to Love" - thank you Orchi.

        • orchidee

Thanks Fay. I see it now as Christ looking on us, to love us; and our looking to Christ, to love and serve Him. 🙂

Did you have to cut the other 2 verses due to no lead in the pencil
No I didn't mean it to sound like that
          DOH!
          I'll get my coat

          • orchidee

Thanks Andrew. Well, I cut out about 6 verses I reckon (the original has 12 verses). Plus the Chorus every time. That's about 24 verses in all - phew!
Where ya going? Getting ya coat? lol.

            A beautiful write.

Psalm 136 God's enduring love is one my favourite stories about Love in the Bible.
