Not my day on the road,
Went to turn into one road,
Blocked by a refuse lorry.
Went another way,
Went up the road
Found roadworks,
Roadworks with traffic lights,
Lights on red!
Went round a roundabout,
Articulated lorry cut in front of me.
Just not my day,
Not my day on the road.

if it aint one thing, tis half a dozen others.. .. what happened to the age of steam..... Another personal observation poem well worth its weight ....... N
I do miss that man in front with the red flag!
Nor mine. A lady and I were on a pedestrian crossing. Before we got half-way across, a car did not stop for us. We give them dirty looks, but they may go too fast to even see us.
Must do something about speed humps maybe, on a certain road. Make it a raised crossing, like a speed bump. That'll shake up the drivers that don't stop.
If you hit a pedestrian it is worth 10 points, if you hit a cyclist on their bike it is worth 20 points but hitting a pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing is the jackpot and worth 50 points!
Bingo! I'm gonna get myself run over then. Erm, I not quite got the hang of things here!
I recognise this - my biggest complaint is a local roundabout which is effectively a tee junction. The number of times I have arrived there not sure if a car coming in the opposite direction is going straight ahead or turning right and having to sit there waiting unsure of their intentions - grrr. . So few motorists observe the highway code when it comes to signalling at roundabouts. Great write Andy.
There seem to be so many who do not know how to deal with roundabouts and as for signalling - don't get me started!
Thanks Michael.
The sun is out today so I'm on my bike to fly by all the people in their cars and trucks!
Have a great day Dan, I am sure that you will.
I know that feeling of being hemmed in while road-business goes on in its interminable way - - frustrating to say the least dear Andy.
Thanks Fay, yes it can be frustrating sometimes, yesterday it was fine.
These are they days you smile and say nice try but I'm still happy
Very true Andrew, you must keep smiling.
Well in Los Angeles, it's the same, every day, so now we stopped saying, "it's just not my day", and take everyday in a stride.
Good one thou.
Thanks Suresh, I am sure that is true and we all 'take it is our stride'.
Couple of weeks back i set off early to ensure i would find good parking at the end of my 35 minute trip to hospital. TWO AND A HALF HOURS it took..... and now i get Goldfinch reminding me.... bah!! .. humbug!
Sorry about that d a, it was better yesterday and a great deal better today.
