PARLIAMENT'S WORD

Michael Edwards

PARLIAMENT'S WORD

A petticoat Government

of candyfloss pirates

waxing exultant

and careless in diction

with heavy brogue accent

its speaking displeases

assaulting the ear.

"When do you know a politician is lying?"
    "Their lips move!"

    • Michael Edwards

And when they are telling the truth they don't say anything !

So everyone has become a politically outspoken know it all at a time when only one sensible question is being asked "Why are our politicians so crap?"

      • Michael Edwards

They eat the rubbish they try to feed us with! Cheers dusk.

Thanks UNCLE MIKE ~ Love the three Sitting Ducks ! Are they JOHNSON - GOVE - REESE-MOGG ? Despite being SOCIALISTS Angela & I liked THERESA and her Plan (approved by the EU) was COMPROMISE ~ BUT it gave EVERYBODY something in the SPIRIT of a 50:50 (acctually 52:48) Referendum Result. Being a gracious Lady she went to Parliment Three times and each time they rejected it. Not because it was a BAD PLAN or a MAD PLAN ~ but because they were all BAD & MAD. Sadly even the Socialists because Brother Corben wanted to be KING ! So we are in a sorry mess ! I grieve not for myself I will be 90 in 2073 but for my UNBORN CHILDREN (I wont be ordering them until next Year ~ PAPA PEDRO has a big Gun to keep the Birds off His sacred VINES) who will reap a Whirlwind !

          Blessings to YOU & YOURS
          Love A & B 🧡💙🧡💙🧡

It does beg the question as to whether we do live in a true democracy. In our system 52:48 was a win for leaving the EU (unconditionally). It's no different to the election of Parliament where the first past the post party dictates the agenda for the next 5 years without compromise to reflect the way votes were cast.

With the advent of trump (purposely) the world is now a "tabloid representation"

And I guess ever will it be so - sadly !

              Michael,

              Thank you for sharing!
I like to read and understand what’s going on from those in the know...not from the newspapers!

              I love the ducks!

              ~Laura~

Over here most of the Newspapers are sadly biased and do not take on the role of honest broker. Thanks Laura

                  You’re welcome!

I know exactly what you mean!

                  Hello Michael.

A brilliant poem. It certainly reflects what's
going on with the government and parliament and Brexit if it ever happens.

                  Keep writing FineB

I am truly ashamed of this government and most of our politicians in general...

                    • Michael Edwards

We had a referendum and a Parliament which is hostile to the outcome. And they call it democracy. If there is an election which seems highly likely who do I vote for? There isn't a party representing the views of the public. I think I'll give up and for the first time in my life not vote - unless the Monster Raving Loony Party put forward a candidate that is.

                      • Neville

I'm standing right next to you in that queue
