Winters kitten and the autumn

Andrew Charles Forrest

Winters kitten and the autumn

Dawn breaks in Septembers hew

The day kissed the earth with untouched dew

The low sun threw shadows at the garden wall

Cascaded winds rustled like waterfalls

I listened at summer’s last words unspoke

And pondered as migrating birds awoke

The last lamb, gone to the slaughter

Winters kitten, beckoned in autumn

A lovely and very well crafted tribute to September's gift of the autumnal fall Andrew and - thank you for the needed reminder that the earth - like us has to rest.

Yes Autumn is close to us and the beauty of natures palette will soon be with us.
