Victory Vindication

Tune: Webb

('Stand up, stand up for Jesus')

Psalm 74 v.10-23 parts

********

O God, how long shall it be

Enemies reproach, see?

Shall they blaspheme for ever

Respect your name never?

Why do you withdraw your hand?

Stretch it out, heal our land

Come, act for us your people

We depend on you all

For you God our King of old

Let your wonders ve told

For you do work salvation

On earth, to each nation

Divided [Red] Sea by your strength

We passed over at length

Broke open fountain and flood

Your way seen, understood

Remember LORD, enemy

has reproached your name, see

The foolish have blasphemed you

With deceits and lies too

O save our souls, come help free

Your turtle-doves we be

Deliver us from wicked

That we not fear nor dread

Forget not congregation

Poor women, children, men

Let not oppressed be ashamed

They have you confessed, named

Arise, God, plead your own cause

Though enemy abhors

Show your power, victory

Grant us your sure mercy
