Tock

Andrew Charles Forrest

Tock

Tock

Dripping tap

Like ticking clocks

It never stops

Tock

Time elapsed

From itching spots

To chicken pox

Tock

The world collapsed...

These droll lines sum up the dire situation so well Andrew. Thanks for your thoughts on world issues today.

Sounds like a clock with the 'tick' hand missing - or the second hand missing?!
The ghastly line of that nursery rhyme too, in 'Ring o' Roses':'Atishoo, Atishoo, we all fall down' - dead!

Very clever poem! The use of the ticking clock, of which we often put to the back of our minds and stop hearing, to represent the quickening downfall of the world is very clever indeed.

So many itching spots in the world today. But here we go again ignoring the warning signs, as always.
Great final line to make one think.
