WHILE ON PLANET EARTH MILLIONS ARE DYING FOR LACK OF FOOD
F OOD IS ESSENTIAL ~ In order to live

O NE which contains - Fats - Carbs - Proteins ~ A
D IET with adequate Minerals & Vitamins !
F OOD comes at a price ~ even when you *GROW YOUR ...
O WN* Budgeting for adequate Food is often a ...
R EAL concern for People living in Poverty !
T HERE are ~ in the UK ~ *cheap food* sources
H OWEVER so many People in Poverty
O FTEN lack the means to source and cook the
U MPTEEN sources of *cheap food* ~ such as
G ENEROSITY (Food Banks) ~ Soup Kitchens ~ and
H EDGEROWS ! In Developed Countries ~ much food is
T HROWN AWAY ~ instead of being REDISTRIBUTED !

The DIAGRAM makes a point we have been making for some
time. The resources (especially fertile soil) of Planet Earth too
produce FOOD are finite and diminishing ! Due to urbanisation
and climate change (drought & desertification). However the
Earths population (7.5 billion) is increasing and could double
by 2100 when our Grandchildren could still be alive. We must act
to prevent Mass Starvation & Civil Anarchy in 80 years time.
Actions could include: 1. Cutting Meat production & consumption
by 75%. 2. Using GM Crops to adapt to hoter & dryer conditions
caused by Global warming. 3. Prevent Food spoilage & Food waste.
Reduce import of Food from Developing Countries. 4. Instead of
wasting money on ARMAMENTS (WAR) ensure that every Family has
access to Pure Water ! 5. Reduce Global CO2 emissions. 7. Reduce
Urbanisation & Deforestation so that People live in Sustainable
Communities ! If we act NOW the Planet earth may still be habitable
for our GRANGCHILDREN & GREATGRANDCHILDREN in the
22nd Century ~ If not the Human race may self destruct !
Through IGNORANCE ~ INTOLERANCE and INHUMANITY !

Great work - we cook all our own from fresh ingredients and never throw away good food. We even use items others may discard like cauliflower stems and celery leaves - all so good and nutritious in things like stir fries. When it comes to things like chickens we only buy them whole (much cheaper) and divide them up into various cuts ready for different recipes. A large pork joint will be cut into two plus several chops. When we cook things like chile con carne we'll make several in one go to save on time and electricity - oh I could go on.

We have now added a Comment and a Video - Please check - THANKS ! We always use cauli stems & leaves and tops of leeks etc in SOUP - nothing wasted ! We peel parsnips but never carrots or potatoes etc !

Similar to Michael I cook all my own food and use everything, if there is too much it goes in the freezer and is used at a later date. The only foray into buying cooked food is the very occasional trip, two minutes walk, to our local fish and chip shop.
Food is never wasted in our house.

Ah the Old Fish & Chips & Mushy Peas - Brian & I used to get them on Friday Night when I stayed @ his Flat we needed the Energy ! The thought of mass anarchy sets the challenge ahead - -wastage and spoilage must be addressed to save self-destruction. - - a powerful write and one to remember - into my favourites with this apt slice of warning and thank you dear duo for sharing your thoughts.

BRIAN & I have both studied Nutrition so we are well awar its not JUST FOOD - its a balanced DIET that is esseantial and lots of good clean water. It is a pity that Thousands in the UK (and the USA) cant afford a balanced Diet and have to rely on Free School Meals and Food Banks ! Millions of Children in Developing Countries are already sufferning from malnutrition ! I will only be 70 in 2058 and I figure that with a population of 10 billion (and less arable land) things could be much worse than now ! Brian & I might have emigrated to NZ which - being sub-Tropical - is very self-sufficient foodwise !
