How many of us do it?
We go through our lives,
We look at all around us.
But how many of us just look,
Look but never see?

There's a Bible verse: 'They shall see, but shall not perceive, etc.....' They looked but never really saw.
Bit like 'Just because I'm in a garage, if you look properly you will see I am not a car!'
Thanks Orchi.
Long ago, as a child, whilst watching a cowboys and indians film i first heard the phrase "The paleface looks but does not see". Right there and then i began to evaluate it's meaning.
I haven't stopped.
So true d a, many look (or hear) but do nor see (or listen). I try to do both but I am still learning.
Ah but many do see - they see a screen - but nothing else. A sad world - a fine observation in your poem.
Thank you Michael, yes those screens are overtaking the world.
the majority probably.... shame innit... N
forgot to add a great little pearl of insightful wisdom..
