Perfect Imperfections

Neville

Perfect Imperfections

Never mind the epicanthic fold

Nor the simian crease

She really is a picture to behold

Truth, I had to Google the terms on the first and second line! So pretty much most of your poem ha! It is stated that the first is considered an abnormality elsewhere around the world... And the second, has negative connotations... And such, the final line... That despite those things and preconceived ideas and beliefs, she is a picture to behold! You see the beauty where others may not... Thats my interpretation anyway haha!

Oh I had to work for this one. But yes, I like it N...

And I have just read the title.... Mmmm kinda says it all. Oh well. Isn't this part of the joy of poetry!

Yes the title you give tells how perfect imperfections can enhance the beholder. Each fold and crease has their own beauty to those whose eyes look inside as well as out as your verse implies Nev............. the simian line is said to be the hand's heart and mind line which when joined give close harmony between emotions and mental powers - - such an interesting read with an appealing last line for us to remember when thinking of folds and creases.....

beauty itself is in and on everyone,
its is the eyes doing the looking that decipher the different level of treasures

Since my wife is Chinese I tend to look at the epicanthic fold as a sign of beauty. You are right, she is a sight to behold, and has been for over 40 years!!!

Each of us is unique, and are seen to be different to others but beauty is within us so look through the eyes to see that beauty.
