Silence.
A little silence mothers clear truth for those
who dare seek and embrace
the great unheard,
and if not smothered, stillness guides minds
to find in quiet
something of beauty waiting behind sound
to become to the listener
more than an antidote.
To those who know unsung whispers bless
can soundless quietude's
escape to peace
compose a useful calmness, lifting moods
with mysterious
halcyon balm which reaches core's healing
for only when still can rest
stifle noise-stress wholly.

A fine write Fay. Ssshhhh - silence please!
Thank you Orchi.
A symphony in words Fay.
Oh how lovely is your description of Silence and thank you dear Michael.
Noises can be good or bad but silence is always silence. We can be so grateful for silence Fay, as you so well say. A special piece, I think, therefore must be a fave' if you will allow me.
Ex animo, Alan
It is my delight that you have included this piece of work among your faves Alan - and thank you very much.
You've encapsulated the beauty of silent times here very well indeed. For satisfaction with silence is a clear path to self knowledge, exploring ones inner mind, reasoning away from the everyday.
For those who look perhaps deeper still a spiritual awareness begins to be realised. Evidence of this can be seen from without when reading some of our fellow poets on mps who quite obviously have ventured well into silence.
Another very enjoyable read Fay. Stimulating, I look forward to commenting on your deliveries here.

So pleased you enjoyed the read myfriend......... times of silent contemplation are able to help in coping with the noise of today.........as I am sure you agree.......... thank you for dropping by and sending your comments dear Andy.
Love your poem, Fay. Silence is definitely underrated. Unfortunately I have tinnitus, so even if it is quiet I still have all that noise.
Know just what you mean Fred - - I have the same to a degree of late and find it disturbing to my search for silence.......... hey C'est la Vie though my friend eh ?
