KEEP WALKING

Michael Edwards

KEEP WALKING

On retirement I decided I must keep fit

so I thought it was time that I should commit

to walking a mile every day

a routine I started without delay

but such extreme exercise comes at a cost

for after six months I’m completely lost.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Apologies for not being around of late but my wife has broken her upper arm and is in much pain requiring my help in everything she does. Anyway found a bit of time to post this one - inspired by my current need to keep up the physio following recent knee replacement.

Thank you once more for my first laugh of the day Michael.
Some people 'of a certain age' forget to turn around.

    Intriguing artwork.

Oh lol, where are ya M?!
Ooh yes, I know lol. My pills said 'Take one a day'. I had to keep regurgitating the same pill. Well, it didn't say if it should be the same pill or not to be taken each day!
Meanwhile - I'm still trying to get out of this Fire Exit, that says 'Keep closed at all times'. Hmm.

I've got one that says take one a day after meals (meals in plural) - do I break it into pieces?

Thanks Fay - nobody told me when you go for a walk half of it has to be in the reverse direction.

GOOD EVENING UNCLE MIKE - ANGELA here - back from NZ for good ! Still suffering from JET LAG since Hawaii - We kept arriving before we*d left and vice versa ! A bit like your walkies ! You should have taken a SAT NAV or a DOG - they always know which side their bread is buttered on - better than a Homing Pigeon ! We haven*t posted today because we were travelling to & fro to a Friends 21st 75 miles by car ! It was a great Party 2pm to 7pm but we all had to chip in ยฃ25 to Pay for it i Esta es La Vida ! Thats Life ! In Spanish if you are using anexclamation mark (or question mark) You always put an inverted one in front of the sentence to warn the reader its coming !
Love the VISUAL is that were you ended up on DAY 23 ? Reminded me of pictures of WW1 *No Mans Land* were you there with GOLDIE & ORCHII ? Blessing & Peace to YOU & YOURS
Love ANGELA & BRIAN (in bed - He did all

Glad you're back safely and packing in the activities. Like idea of putting the exclamation mark in front - makes good sense. Yes I was there on that day - I was a minstrel. Yes Jeanne will be needing physio but it's early days - she can#'t yet move her arm at all without great pain - conservative treatment but the fractures are stable and dur to reviewed again in 4 weeks time by the Orthopaedic clinic.

I enjoy walking too but not at the moment waiting for my new knee hinge to bed in.
