Servant Sureties

Tune: Lyngham

('O for a thousand tongues to sing')

Isaiah 42 v.1-12 parts

********

*Repeat lines as shown*

I am the LORD, that is my name

A name of endless fame (x2)

My glory will I not give, share

With those who idols fare (x3)

Behold, former things, they are past

They not for ever last (x2)

New things I do declare, the LORD

They spring forth at my word (x3)

Sing you to the LORD a new song

And joyful praise prolong (x2)

Praise Him to ends of earth and seas

With truth His word agrees (x3)

Let the deserts and too cities

Lift up voice, make their pleas (x2)

All world's inhabitants where'er

You be, make praises there (x3)

Let them His name now glorify

He the LORD, He is nigh (x2)

He has His servant sent, His Son

Redeeming work has done (x3)

A bruised reed He shall break never

Shall not snap it ever (x2)

And smoking flax He shall quench not

But shall revive its lot (x3)

He shall bring judgement and justice

Unto truth, sure is this (x2)

He shall not fail, nor shall He be

Discouraged, constant He (x3)

          Hi Orchidee,

Idols pale in comparison to the eternal glory of the Lord.
