The Coffee Angel.

Goldfinch60

All the time I have been coming

She has been there,

Her golden hair surrounding her face,

A face so full of smiles and laughter.

Whenever I see her my soul lifts,

Lifts it into a peaceful place,

That peaceful place

Where all is right in my life.

But now she is leaving,

Leaving for pastures new,

Where her smile will lift the souls,

Lift the souls of others.

She will share her life

With new people,

To enhance their lives,

As she has mine.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I have written this for the manager of the Coffee House where Joyce and I, and no I, go to three or four times a week. She is leaving today for another job. She has been so supportive of us both and I will miss her very much. I gave her this poem a couple of days ago, it brought tears to her eyes - I didn't think it was that bad!

A fine write for her Gold. Did she also weep at my singing, when I sang her a farewell song?!

    • Goldfinch60

I played her a recording of your singing, that is why she is leaving!

Doh! Well I do say - if anyone wants to get rid of a trouble-maker, just gimme a call. A song or two from me - who can bear to stay? Pity I scared off a good person. Oops!

What a sentimental poem Gold, I can see why she teared up, it's a very beautiful poem, great piece.

        • Goldfinch60

          Thank you Adam, most kind.

I bet she'll go all gooey - great tribute to someone who must be one of life's treasures.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you Michael, yes she did go gooey, a lovely lady who will be missed by many.

Jean Kelly and the two boys do a good job of this routine Andy. I think they poached the 'Singing in the Rain' bit later on from Eric and Ernie.

            Ex animo, Alan

Yes they do a good job, it is one of my favourite musicals. Eric and Ernie do take some beating though.
