As I wondered through the countryside
I saw them,
I saw the trees in autumn.
The yellow, gold and orange of the leaves,
The wonder of colour around me.
I was with them,
With them, inside natures artwork,
Created from its palette of autumn.
I looked ahead across a field,
I saw them,
The branches shed of leaves
As the wind of nature
Blew the leaves away,
Leaving the branches reaching up,
Reaching up to the sky
As if pleading to heaven.
I was with them,
Reaching for the stars.
Natures journey continued,
I was there looking at its world,
So beautiful,
So wonderful,
And I was there,
Part of nature’s wonder.

So was I there to see those scenes as in this fine write Gold. You see me? in scarf, coat, hat, gloves?! lol.
Sometimes it's more of a dash through the country for me in chillier weather, unless it's just to cold, and I abandon the walk.
But some folk still don't have coats on, and even wear shorts still.
I couldn't pick you out from the others wearing all their winter apparel.
You were one of those who were in T-shirts? Spend an hour in a chilly church, see if you can endure the icy draught! It makes me feel ill as the hour goes on. It's worse than being outdoors sometimes, unless one is outdoors for a prolonged time.
So beautiful 🙂
I love the way you speak of branches " pleading " to the heavens .... Personifying those branches as if they had feelings
And referring to nature as " artwork "
Truly lovely , enjoyed reading
Thank you yellowrose, I always look upon natures colours as artwork.
All the joy and beauty of the autumn - super piece of writing.
Thank you Michael.
I owe you an apology, I should have put up the poem that I have written about your artwork, I will try and remember tomorrow.
I look forward to it.
