The experience of MUSIC
Is in itself intangible !
How can ariel vibrations ?
Produce such strong inner feelings
That transport one to higher
Planes of consciousness !
And by what ? A bowed Violin
A resonating Horn ~ A quivering Harp
Plucked by an Angel ~ or so it seems !

A great verse and how I applaud the line that says don't applaud until the end. One of the modern cuses of popular music concerts is the discourteous way audiences applaud not only before the end but also during the couse of a perfomance - for example as soon as they recognise a song. Grrrr
Good Evening UNCLE MIKE thanks for your comments. We like JAZZ CONCERTS because one can shout & holler after solos and wander in & out to get a PINT ~ AMEN ! In my ODE I mentioned the DISCIPLINE of Classical Music and this includes the MUSICIANS as well as the audience ! JAZZ is the opposite free expression and fluid & proactive audience ! At College when we have Classical Concerts ~ if anyone arrives late they are not allowed to enter until the end of a MOVEMENT or PIECE ~ Modern Society lacks DISCIPLINE !
