Anna of a Thousand Days!
Posting me 1,000th poem on this site today!
Mind you, I'm her twin sister
With me imaginary barking dog, Fido!
I'm very eccentric too
The dog's very famous, ya know
He barks, reads, and writes
I should be a millionaire by now -
If he was not non-existent!
Ohh, and me whisky-watering too
And moments of nuttiness
How did ya bear with me a thousand days?!
Well, Goldie and I - and you too?
Have been around since before 1066
(Battle of Hastings, England, UK)
We were both in it, ya know!
Poor old Anne, me twin sister
Came to a sorry end
I remember her going to the dress shop with her hubby Henry (VIII)
The assistant said to King Henry:
"We've not got a lot of stock left
What with you keep chopping and changing!" (geddit?)*
Cheers! Here's to another 1,000 days!
With a tipple for us all -
With water added, of course! lol.
Sshh - don't tell anyone

* I saw a cartoon of Henry VIII and one of his wives in a dress shop in a Caption Competition.
I won the prize of a print, with the caption as above.

Well done Orchi, my 1,000 tomorrow. I have so far been able to avoid you watering my whisky but I still think Harold is up there waiting for so that he can stick that arrow somewhere in you where the light does not shine.
I am also glad that you are singing at least a thousand miles away from me.
I still do not understand why you got to 1,000 be fore me as I introduced you to the site. One of life's many mysteries.
Yes, well I checked the other day, and we both had the same number, so..... maybe Fido sneaked a poem in! Much more of this daftness and they'll believe Fido is real!
Congrats Orchi - get the Baub Berles out and lets have a sing song - out of tune of course - and Fido can join in.
