GOOD MORNING UNCLE MIKE ~ Love the Painting it reminded us of the OLD GRAMMAR SCHOOL @ Market Harborough (1614 Orchii will remember it being built !) It provided a covered area (out of the rain !) for a MARKET ! A Poem about an UMBRELLA always brings a SMILE to ONES FACE ~ We all need a SMILE on a Saturday to counter BREXIT ! Thanks for sharing !

Read your couplet at the right time. Been raining all morning. And you are right, that shadow under the house looks a little bit like flooding. 🙂

I have an umbrella in my car, it has moved from car to car since i was given it is the 1980s, never been used in earnest!

A superb write. This recent bout of rain has been so annoying. I have relied on a good anorak and my waterproof overtrousers to keep me dry.
