Tune & Carol: The holly and the ivy

Luke 1 v.26-38 parts

********

The angel Gabriel sent

To Nazareth he went

To house of David, a virgin

He did speak unto then

Chorus

Hail, Mary, high favoured

The Lord to you has sure said

You shall bear the Christ-child, name Jesus

A Saviour unto us

Thus Gabriel did so speak

To Mary, lowly, meek

Blesséd are you among women for

Holy child you bear sure - Chorus

Mary said, How shall this be?

For I a virgin, see

The angel said, The holy Ghost

Shall o'ershadow you most - Chorus

So the holy one which shall

Be born of you, know well

Shall be the Son of God, His name

Jesus Christ, He the same - Chorus

Though Mary, she questioned how

These things should occur now

Gabriel said, With God nought be

Impossible, you shall see - Chorus

Thanks M lol. You know the sisters Holly and Ivy Berles?

      • Michael Edwards

I feel sorry for Ivy - why can't she wear the crown sometimes?

        • orchidee

Yes - will it be PC to adjust the carol? And what is Carol's surname - we never get to know?

          • Michael Edwards

            I think it's Singer.
