A skilled artist reduces.

4 is so true but even in that reality of photography you need to be able to see the picture in your minds eye first.

    • Michael Edwards

It's strange but what makes makes a good photo doesn't always make a good painting and vice versa. Thanks Andy.

      Good writes and pic M.

Wise and so true these thoughts on art and its producers dear Michael.

      • Michael Edwards

Thanks Fay. I have some friends who paint in realism style who would not agree with these thoughts but we are all different.

Oh so true are your words of learned wisdom today. I wish more of our mps contributors could adopt line two in their postings.

        • Michael Edwards

I agree. Also I would like to see more contibutors try different styles whether it be humour or different forms. The main problem I have is with those who are driven by personal angst rather than a love of poetry - ask them to write a poem about, say a cow or a crumpet, and they'd be lost.

BON APRES MIDI ~ Notre Oncle MIKE ! Thanks for painting another hung suit of a UNIDEXTER ! Right dexter missing this time ! As far as the Odd Odes are concerned ?

          (3) True of everything ~ Our Mantra is REDUCTIO AD ABSURDUM !
          (4) Photography is now classified as an ART & a suitable Subject
for a DEGREE (as is Catering !) However TRUE VISUAL ART extends
far beyond the PHYSICAL EYE and invokes the SOUL ! Your Paintings
today & yesterday to me invoke *Hanging Suits of UNIDEXTERS* and
could have infinite interpretations ! I (Angela) do meet UNIDEXTERS
in my AQUATHERAPY CLASSES so it is an element in my Visual
Perception & Brian did not have an alternative so I won !

We agree with your comment to DA ~ MPS needs much more diversity in Style & Subject ~ we do our best ! Blank Verse PANTOUM Today *THE ROSE OF TEXAS* An Acrostic Sonnet tomorrow ! We see COW & CRUMPET as a Challenge ~ perhaps in the same POEM !

Blessings & Peace to YOU & YOURS
          Love Angela & Brian ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

Ah yes - the picture is of Miss Spiggot who demonstrates much soul and no eye. Actually the Cow and Crumpet sounds like a pub near me. For obvious reasons I find it hard to connect with your poem today as good as it is and look forward to The Rose of Texas tomorrow.

a true artist always reflects the soul, that is our inner being, where the real emotion begins

          • Nicholas Browning

That painting gives me some cool vibes. These little lines about the truth of the world always reflect so well the personality of their author. So simple, yet so vastly deep. I enjoyed the thought-train, Michael.

            • Michael Edwards

Thanks Nicholas - I'm afraid I find little to stir me in most conventional art - art should make us think - not just inform.

              Hi Michael,

              Excellent write with great observations.

              Keep writing FineB
