- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. metre. Sometimes we may, or try to, 'pray away' all the 'bad' things (verse 2). Yet we can pray for protection and guarding. Binchester in County Durham, not to confuse with Winchester in the South (tune name).
