Where Roses Grow.

Goldfinch60

We know of dark places
Where the lamps no longer shine,
Our lives are bleak
Where hope has left us,
And no roses grow.

That darkness is often there,
But knowledge will tell us
The darkness will subside,
The light will be back in our lives,
And the roses will grow.

  • Comment from author about the poem: After Michael Edwards poem "Where No Roses Grow" I wrote the second verse of this poem as a reply. I have now expanded it to include a precis of Michael's poem as the first verse. Thank you Michael for the inspiration.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGEA HERE - GOOD MORNING UNCLE ANDY - Love FLY ME TO THE MOON - very evocative. Thanks for sharing and for two more excellent Stanzas about Roses a la Uncle Mike !

    You do not sorrow
Like those that have NO HOPE
Death doth hide - But not divide
It is as though - The rose that bloomed
    Upon your Trellis Fence
Has blossemed on the Other Side
You will see her lovely Face
    Some bright Golden Morning
    When the clouds have lifted
    And the shades have flown
No more darkness Pain or Death
    Heart aches gone forever
    No more Night only Light
YOU WILL SEE HER FACE - AMEN !

I am sending these words of Comfort & Encouragement
As you face this short period of separation - BUT
With JOYCE not by your side - but ever in your HEART - AMEN

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
    Love ANGELA & BRIAN

Thank you Angela for your fine words, she will be forever with me but I do have the ability to move forward into a new life. Joyce will always be at my side though and we will be together again.

Wheh i was a keen photographer my theme was to capture how nature reclaims what mankind has discarded. Nature prevails.
The roses will surely grow again for they have a rich soil in which to live and bring joy.

      • Goldfinch60

May that joy be shown to everybody d a. Thank you.

You flatter me with such a super response - and now I look to cutting the first rose of the year wit its promise of what's to come.

        • Goldfinch60

May that rose fill you with the light of a great year.

          A beautiful write.

These dark moments in our lives are temporary but light and roses always prevail in our lives.
