We try to live our lives
In the way we want them to go.
Others look at us and try to change us,
Change us into the person they want,
They want us to be.
But we are ourselves,
Unique in this world,
So be yourself.
I will be myself
And will not change,
Not change to be accepted,
Accepted by others.
So come on people
Be like me
And stay weird!

My world of music is/was filled with weird eccentric artists e.g. stanley clarke, jaco pastorius, charlie parker who each were doing it differently in their day. Now their styles and statements have become commonplace in our everyday music.
I have always been a bit of an oddball i suppose. I wholeheartedly support your message today. Every flock needs a renegade.
Thank you d a, yes there were some very odd musicians who have now become commonplace.

My philosophy exactly ! Nicely put and written. It's very easy to feel you have to mold to others wishes but I don't think it ever helps in the long run.

I have played Acoustic Steel Guitar in a trad Jazz Band ~ loved the Guitar Solos but could never match DJANGO ! I agree with the sentiments in your Poem ! We are all born different (WEIRD ?) and the Good Book says *Dont let this World press you into its Mold !* Some people consider ALL POETS are WEIRD ~ AMEN
