Selfless Steps

Tune: Langran

('Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face')

********

Draw near to God, he will draw near to you

Go not by sight, but by faith His way view

One step at a time, each day seek t ogrow

More Christ-like and more of His Spirit know

Forgive where we fret, hearts they restless be

Or where forgot your constant company

The things we face, your comfort do you bring

And we to you brign praise our offering

Move us, help us, if stuck in apathy

Or maybe a dull unreality

Show what is best, unselfish may we take

Up our cross daily, live for your name's sake

Not be content with what we want, but seek

What you want Lord, and serve you, humble, meek

Our weaknesses you know, to what we prone

Our temptations you know, and did them own

Yet without sin, not fall into sin once

Your Father's will your food, your sustenance

help us not live by bread alone entire

But live by your every word, so aspire

Lord we beseech you, clear our minds of this man made brainwashing that we may see the true light.
Enter into our souls the realisation that the man made power base we know as the established church is corrupt as was the temple in lord jesus' time.
Forgive us our sin of patronising all around us with our false piety whilst we observe contrary lives and deliver us from the eye of a needle where our earthly gains will not pass through.
    amen.

Well, yes, Amen to that! If meaning false 'religion', sticking to man-made rules, etc.

Good Evening Mon Oncle Steve ! Thanks for another uplifting Hymn & Poem. We are doing a series on The Lords Prayer in our BIBLE STUDY and sharing experiences of answered Prayer. What we are realising that as Committed Christians ~ when we speak to God in sincere Prayer he is always avaiable ~ unlike Earthly Councellors ! Also the fact that as Blood-washed-sinners we can come BOLDLY before the Throne of Grace ~ AMEN. The problem with Agnostics & Atheists (who are critical of Prayer) is that they dont share our experience because it in not NATURAL but SPIRITUAL and in the Spiritual Dimension. The problem is they remain ignorant and miss out on so so much Blessing & Joy !

Blessings & Joy to You & Saint Bernard ~ alias FIDO !

Thanks B&A. Yet we know we can't force beliefs on others, whether spiritual, or natural, e.g. you must BELIEVE in my football team, unless it's ………(insert team name here)!

Good write Orchi but I agree with d a.

          • orchidee

Thanks Gold. I agree, in that if it's hypocrisy, self-righteousness, etc of some 'religious' people. Jesus gave strong words to such - You hypocrites, you snakes, etc'
