Forgive, Lord, where distracted we may be
Help us your will and ways so clear to see
Take from us worries, frets, and fears and cares
Give us daily bread in each day's affairs
Lead on with your light, your path illuming
That we follow on joyfully and sing
You who know all hearts, minds, each human life
Our trouble, toil, unrest, and hasty strife
What be a way through such conflicts and woe?
We can you and your son Jesus Christ know
You see our musings, each situation
O Lord of all and over each nation
Turning to prayer, not make molehills mountains
Yet your word says we may move e'en mountains
By faith in you, Lord God, all possible
Spirit assist us as we on you call
Then thanks return, having seen your good hand
And your will more wisely to understand
What be our care, what be our trouble now?
Not all to 'pray away', but to know how
To pray what be as you lead by your grace
To pray in wisdom, your paths more sure trace
The end of all, that you be glorified
Prayers of your children shall not be denied
