CARPE DIEM ~ SEIZE THE DAY ๐Ÿงก ANGELA ๐Ÿค BRIAN ๐Ÿ’™ PANTOUM

ANGELA & BRIAN

EACH NEW DAY WE ARE ALL ALLOCATED 24 PRISTINE HOURS !  8 TO WORK ~ 8 TO PLAY ~ 8 TO SLEEP ~ THEY QUICKLY PASS ~ EACH PRECIOUS HOUR ~ OUR RESPONSIBILITY !

RISE NOW to meet the Morning Beam

Slowly  the Evening Night comes on

Now lay thee down at Night to dream

Too soon the Morn & Eve are gone !

Slowly the Evening Night comes on

Rest on rest on ~ from troubles sore

Too soon the Morn & Eve are gone

So fear the heat of Sun no more !

Rest on rest on ~ from troubles sore

Bring forth thy seed & fruit to light

So fear the heat of Sun no more

And Morn shall please thee as the Night

Bring forth thy seed and fruit to light

Now lay thee down at Night to dream

And Morn shall please thee as the Night

Rise now to meet the Morning beam !

Thanks for reading ~ comments please ~ Love Angela & Brian ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

This Poem is presented as a Pantoum in which every line is repeated once in a strict order. The 2nd & 4th lines - of verse ONE - become the 1st & 3rd lines of verse TWO etc etc. Each verse is a QUATRAIN and there is no limit to the number of verses.  To complete the Poem ~ the LAST line of the LAST verse is the FIRST line of verse ONE and the SECOND line is  the THIRD line of verse ONE !  Thus the Poem ends where it begins. This Poem is based on a normal Poem (rhyming couplets) by HOUSEMAN.  Hope above is clear ~ ANGELA & BRIAN

Good write B&A. That ole blackbird spoken? Ahh, a talking bird - as well as parrots, mynah birds, etc. But can you help? I took so long working out 'Carpe Diem' that by the time I did, there was no day left to seize. I not quite got the hang of this!

ANGELA HERE - Thanks Uncle Steve - I would have thought that being the age you are you would be ery familiar with LATIN ! When the tridentine Mass was in vogue one could learn a lot @ Mass *Deus cum vobis et cum spirito tuo etc. Now we have to keep our Latin topped up on line !

Blessings & Peace to YOU & The Hound of MPS !

Yes, I'm very old - should know Latin. But I dunno the Tridentine Masses - sounds like a bit of French to me (if that's not irreverent to say!). Bonjour,... about as far as I get! I thought ya was going fishing, with carpe - me being somewhat uncultured in languages! lol.

Each new day is a bonus to us all and should be treated as such.
