Yellowness.

Fay Slimm.

Yellowness.

With each advent of sun-showered lemon
wonderment happens,
a springing of close trumpeting denseness
coats valley and field.

Local daffodil time opens frilly in captured
essence of Spring-scent
packed with massed heads all nodding in
gilt-welcome greeting.

A yearly looked-for experience is this, so
breathing in sunshine
under blue sky I bend down to eye level
and lie alongside.

An ocean of yellowness floods dry minds
resurrects senses
with Flora's alchemic potions, acclaimed
as therapy's finest.

To be momentarily floating atop flittering
waves of vibrations
is like swimming in Spring-powered bliss.

So pleased you liked the picture too as I thought it went quite well with the verse - many thanks for your comment dear Andy.

You could not have chosen a more appropriate colour to announce the nearness and coming of spring.. Nor all those other things that make one smile whilst still on the very cusp of it

Good that the read left you with a smile on this cloudy-grey day Nev............. masses of daffs are appearing in local fields though despite the wet welcome. Haven't got down yet for an eye-level view of yellowness (just like the picture ) - - but I will - -- and soon.

Envious of your getting down to eye level these beauties.... at sea with daffodils. Not many around me at the moment but i'm staying indoors a lot anyway.
Your words remind me of the time i had an apartment in a stately home... the gardens awash with yellow and over enthusiastic little girls innocently harvesting the 'crop' to bring indoors and adorn the hallways.

Ah springtime enters amidst the fanfare of yellow trumpets..... beckoning our minds to look forward to sweltering summer ahead.

          • Fay Slimm.

It must have been quite an experience D.A. to have dwelt in a stately home and enjoyed the surrounds which home like that have -- (now who is envious ! ) - - but great big thank yous for your visit to my few lines on the glories of daffodil-time that heralds the coming of Spring.

Best line ever. Another masterpiece Fay 🙂

Wow - I am, feeling a blush coming on with that compliment of Masterpiece - so pleased that you chose the sentence you did though as those few words seemed the best to describe the effect of getting closer to yellowness - at least for poets like me......... thank you so much for your visit.

Love that last stanza, Fay! And according to quantum theory, all we are is vibrations!

              • Fay Slimm.

Too true Fred a load of pure energy is just what we are - but such powerful vibrations which we could use to unlock more knowledge of nature's sheer beauty should we but choose. Your very perceptive comment is so welcome my friend.

Super write and, like Fred, I love the concluding two lines.

                • Fay Slimm.

Glad you took to the last couplet on right vibrations - thanks a load Michael for dropping by

...sets your mind to wandering, as a cloud. Yellow is the colour of the springtime of my youth. The trumpeted fanfare announces it's arrival... Thanks for the memoy Fay.

                  Ex animo, Alan
