Sylvia's Mother Said

Neville

Sylvia's Mother Said

Sylvia’s mother said
Let go and forget him
No way is he worth it
Let go and enjoy being free

Sylvia’s mother said
Your babies are hungry
Whatever you do keep them
Safe and away from your poetry

Sylvia’s mother said
Both Frieda and Nicholas
Must not be allowed
To go it alone

Life should be easier
And more than a gas
When you’re a mother of
Just thirty years old

Sylvia’s mother said
Put the pen down now
Come sit by the fire
My word you look cold

And the operator says
You don’t have to do this
Don’t cry you don’t have to go it alone
There is never a best way to die

Something for us all waits at the end of the earthly existence we call life. A faith in the hereafter almost negates a good or bad way to pass though we all wish it painless.

A very sad tale from you today. Your poetic patchwork of a life's snippets encourages me to thunk it relates to your own experience. It is certainly deep in that i feel drawn in and thoughtful. I cautiously look forward to a response to my words here.

Thank you for visiting these words DA... both welcome and appreciated.... I may have been a bit miserable when these words came to mind but I assure you.. nowt to worry about... they were inspired by my considering some of the words of Ms S Plath and knowing her background and history.... Cheers again my friend..

A talented life ending the way that it did for Sylvia is such a sad and tragic happening.......... you pen the scene so realistically by delivering Mother's usual worry I was almost in that fateful room and was with every word to the finish. Brilliant writing again dear Neville.

The only certainty in life is death but each day we live must be enjoyed no matter what fate is in store for us.
                  Good write Neville.
