A friend of mine is such a dork
he eats his curry with a knife and fork.

- Comment from author about the poem: Wrote this a few days ago when we went to an Indian restaurant. I asked the waiter for a spoon and he said 'Ah a real curry eater!'....................I've used a spoon and fork all my life - probably learning from my wife and her family who are from the east - why do westeners insist on using a knife and fork and why in more recent years do Indian restaurants nowadays only provide a knife and fork - a knife I ask you - they never used to.

If you're really authentic youd use your hands!
So true but coronavirus has put a stop to that.
Chicken (curry)
It's not that - it's the taste of the hand gel 😉
Oh lol, good write and pic M. How does Miss Berles eat hers?
On a chair Orchi.
Good write Michael and so true, I have always used a fork and a spoon.
Andy
It's so difficult to cut rice grains with a knife isn't it! Thanks Andy
Absolutely,,In today's epoch,,fork becomes human hands !!
That's not good for our culture,,,We the people of Assam(India) never accept this tradition ...I think hands are the most useful tool in such cases ,given to us by the Creator .
I agree with you Mottakeenur and when in India I also have used my hands out of respect for my hosts. In fact I still do when eating with chippatis, naan, etc.

And those hygene rules are a right flippin caper,
I wanna eat my chips out of last weeks newspaper.
Authentic restaurants serve on a leaf too.
My hands have never been so clean - nowadays repeating the annual ritual many times a day.
