Nothing of then
remained.
It was as if
the land were
stripped bare.
Winds droned
through broken
landscape of
mountain heights.
Dark clouds
decayed into
dreary drizzle
over rivers
of deaths despair
in flood.
Look down
now, upon
a world turned
against itself.
Was this what
thousands of years
of the word
had brought.
As decreed
in scripture
of ancients
upon which
a blind mankind
had dined.
Evolving from
man of caves
to creator
of artificial
intelligence.
From a flat world
to interplanetory
explorer.
'It came
to pass'
In thine name,
in thy image,
I am become
destroyer.

Thank you for your comment on this piece which is really just my light hearted response to the patronising arrogance and dual standards of those who post quasi religious twaddle on here and appear to believe god belongs to them and their way of religion (one of them recently even claimed to speak for god!). The ones who side-step any query with more of the same rhetorical
jumble whilst remaining impotent as they/we destroy this beautiful planet, our home, in some vain belief that THEY will be saved.
Such a clever title to this outcry against the "artificial" as opposed to the real .A shiver runs through me on reading your last words in this truly powerful poem .

So many lines throughout this write that sends chills down your spine. Even more so when you realize the possibility of reality in it.
Great write with a thought provoking message Dusk. Splendid work.
