DURING LOCKDOWN ~ People isolated at home are learning New Skills to keep themselves occupied ! In the UK 3000 Lockdowners were contacted to discover their TEN most popular New Skills. In order they were: Learning to Bake Bread - Learning to Knit - Music - Gardening - Learning a Language (Especially SPANISH !) - Hairdressing - Clothes - Photography - Computing & Cars. In our Sonnet We imagined a FAMILY engaged in all these New Activities !
Stuck in Day & Night with nothing to do
Lets learn to Bake Bread said Practical Prue !
Im learning to Knit said my Sister Kit ~ just like a Lady
Her big balls of wool ~ diverse hue ~ looked like parrots
Im learning Guitar & tonic sol fa ~ piped up Sadie
And Jims growing lettuce & broad beans - tomatoes & carrots !
Dads learning Spanish & singin* Que Sera Sera
Marilyn's takin* selfies ~ all glammed up ~ in la-di-di-da !
Me Mum is upstairs ~ cutting Josephine's hair
Brother Erasmus ? fast asleep in his chair !
When he wakes up he*ll be programmin* computer
An* tinkerin* about ~ with his *Model T Ford*
In real time Eras is a London Commuter
But he*s grounded confounded & bored !

Fly the flag for the UK !
Good words, we mut all do what we can to keep ourselves sane.
Unfortunately one of the things I have been doing is making biscuits, allegedly for my neighbours and their two young boys - well I do have to try them to see if they are OK says my increasing girth!

Good to read of new things that people are learning while behind closed doors - - love the humorous rhyming you used when describing a family trying to make the best of their isolation - well done you two. xx
