There were many ahead of me
As I walked my path of life,
And many behind me.
We kept walking,
Stumbling occasionally,
But finally we reached a door.
I walked through the door
And saw some stairs,
I walked up them
Following those ahead of me,
Each step I climbed became narrower
Until there ahead of me was nobody,
The steps had disappeared.
I took the next step.

Good write Gold.
Some bad dreams use up energy, I find - mental energy?
You going up a tower or something? Or stepping into..... don't know what?
I had not a dream exactly, but woke up and could smell flowers as if in a meadow.
Some dreams are very strange and very unlike the dreams we wish for.

Those people in white coats can be very off-putting, I know when I was in analytical chemistry I used to wear a white coat and some people would be very wary of me.

A mystical dream indeed. So frustrating too as on awakening the shape of our brain waves literally change and the mystical world of dreamland fades.
Subconsciously, for obvious reason, you romance with thoughts of passing from this life i guess. So a dream will reflect some of this.
Many a thing is written of such matters but we shall know the truth by experience only.
Your faith is strong and you are humble, maybe there is a given purpose for us all and yours is being slowly revealed to you.
I know that in my life and with MY belief that this spell on earth is but a blink of an eye in the timescale. I know that I will be with people who have passed, especially Joyce, but that is to come in the ,hopefully, distant future in this life.
Yes d a, maybe my future is being revealed but I know all will be well in that future.

Whilst there are likely to be many different interpretations .. I shall keep mine to myself, but hasten to add.. they are encouraging and nowt to be fearful of.. an interesting poem today sir and one that raises many questions and possibilities...… Neville
Thank you Neville - it was meant to be this way and leave the question unanswered.
