Tune: Coelites Plaudant (The Radiance of Applause)
('Christ the fair glory of the holy angels')
**********
Psalm 84 v.1-2
How lovely your tabernacles, LORD of hosts
My soul delights in them and of your name boasts
It longs, yes, faints for your courts, there to abide
For there you do reside
Psalm 84 v.11
The LORD God, He a sun and shield to us is
He will give grace and glory to us, 'tis bliss
No good thing will he withhold from the upright
Those righteous in His sight
Psalm 85 v.7-8
Show us your mercy, LORD, grant your salvation
Unto all great and small, peoples of each nation
I will hear what He unto His people will speak
Peace to lowly and meek
Psalm 85 v.10-11
Mercy and truth are met together, e'en yet
Righteousness and peace kissed each other when met
Truth from the earth shall spring, fruitful abounding
Unto life e'erlasting

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 11.11.11.6. metre. The original is ancient, from the mid 8th to mid 9th Centuries. An apt title name, I thought, for the Thursday Clapping Celebrations for NHS, etc.

You keep 'em coming Orchi.
Thanks M.
when I saw your title, I thought Fido was in for a field day.. but then.. and before I could muster a swoon.. the body of todays poetic offering proved wholly acceptable

Thanks Neville. Another sort of passion/desire would require an 18+.

ANGELA HERE - Bon apres midi - Mon Oncle Steve ! Brian & I are enjoying the Sunday Services on BBC1. Thanks for the Hymn for Karyoke (good tune !).
Love the Poems. There are 31,174 verses in the Psalms and every one is a latent ODE ! Loved the versification of the four you chose !
1. The TABERNACLES (good word) of the LORD are all excellent !
2. The LORD does indeed - give us all things frely !
3. MERCY is what we all need wrt this PANDEMIC !
4. Mercy & Truth are an explosive mixture - as are Righteousness & Peace - AMEN !
Blessings to You & Your Scruffy Spaniel (Its not a Mortal Sin to Brush Fido on a Sunday) Just cos Hes not going to church during LOCKDOWN theres no need for Him to look like Onslows *Ound !
Spiritual love Angela & Brian 💛💛💛
Thanks A&B. You in ya Tabernacle there (house)? And for my next hymn-poem - it'll have 31,174 stanzas then. Phew! You sure it's that many? I mean 150 x average of say, 30 verses = 4,500 verses. Do you mean 3,174?
