This is a FORM (SHAPE) Poem in the form of a DIAMOND. Every line - except the Middle line (line 12 in this case) is repeated only in reverse order. This ensures that the DIAMOND has perfect symmetry. One has to ensure (by adroit choice of words) that the poem ~ makes sense ~ read (line for line) backwards as well a forwards. In addition to Rhyme & Rhythm another important factor in a written Poem is its FORM (SHAPE) ~ division into STANZAS (verses) etc. A form Poem often lacks Rhyme but it always scores A* for FORM !

BRIAN HERE ~ Well done Uncle Steve ~ I award you an A for trying ! If one mirrors the Poem the shape is always symmetrical. However getting the Poem to make sense BACKWARDS as well as FORWARDS is a problem of a diferent magnitude.

BRIAN HERE ~ Good Evening UNCLE MIKE ~ Now Im in LOCKDOWN (should be back in College this week) I have more time for obscure poetic forms ! It always surprises me that Poems - in this form - make sense in their reverse form. I guess that is an acolade for the English Language not the POET ! Pleased you appreciated it !
