The sun was up,
And so was I,
Looking out,
At the clear blue sky.
The day was here,
And all looked fine,
And best of all,
The day was mine.
I had my choice,
I know I’d walk,
And along the way,
With people I’d talk.
These so Strange Times,
People seemed so nice,
But why did this come,
With such a price.
When it is ended,
People might just see,
That good humour,
Is what life should be.

Hope so, instead of grunts, etc from some folk, or a dirty look.
Certainly , most people seem to fine in these times.
Andy
It's some corner shops, I find - not all of them - but just a grunt, holding out a hand for payment for goods.
Perfect! Good humour is what keeps us going. Thank you for a great poem.
So very true Fred.
Andy
Ever since WW2 people of this nation have been able to own their own house, have a (or several) cars, eat what they will, drink their fill and travel where they please in relative peace. They felt comfortable and secure and had no need of the friendship of strangers when they own a host of tv sets and electronic gadgetry.
In such a short space of time all this has changed and people are frightened and insecure. They find that they do need to say good morning to others that they don't know.
Prior to this lockdown thing I would meet countless souls on my morning walk in the countryside where I live and received no reply to a morning greeting. Now all but two have replied with a smile.
Strange times indeed Andy.
Ex animo, Alan
All the people I meet on my daily walk speak now and with some we have conversations as well.
Keep well
Andy
What a day today is...it must be the sunshine.
Excellent music and vid. A completely different approach to sax from mine, so soft and lyrical. I'm more in the Rollins school but thoroughly enjoyed it. 'Clarinette-sh' sound.
Well you rhymer! It's there within us all and comes out with the sunshine maybe. Such a light bright and joyful write today. Absolute pleasure to read and wholeheartedly agree with it's message.
Thank you d a, Andrea Motis is a trumpet player and a singer, I have come to appreciate her very much and she is in,y 24.
Thank you for your kind words d a, it will be infesting what you make of tomorrowβs effort. Unused words eh?
Andy
just how I feel - keep the humour coming. The only trouble is British humour can be a little dry and often beyond the ken of other natonals.
Thanks Michael, the humour will always be there.

BRIAN HERE ~ GOOD EVENING Uncle Andy ~ What are You on ? Or have you been reading Andrews book *Poetry in Motion !* Rhyme as well as Rhythm ! I printed it to make sure the Rhyme Pattern was consistent and it is ! xaxa xbxb xcxc xdxd xexe ! It reads & recites well ~ almost like some of A & Bs doggerel (monotonous rhthym !). I agree with the tenor of your Poem. Crisis creates Companionship ! We have got to know most of our Neighbours with the Thurday Night *Last Night of the Proms* Potz & Panz Percussion Orchestra singing *You*ll Never walk Alone* a la Michael Ball & Major(promotion up the ranks) Tom ! The Brits Mantra is always HUMOR *Smile when your Heart is aching ....... !*
Love the video ~ cool sax ~ almost Aka Bilkish in its register ?
Blessings & Peace to YOU & YOURS
Love Brian & Angela πππππ
