dusk arising

this special springtime

Springtime, you lover of country lanes
whose five bar gates through bulging
hawthorn of creamy blossom lead.
To verdant pasture's rejoice of springing
newborn lamb and nervous calf's enquiry.

A lonely bumble bee loiters over surprise
of late daffodil by the old grey lock
where young boys netted and ready wield
jars of frogspawn bounty and glee.
Early duckling parade with proud mum
through raining of blossom upon the breeze.

And now into the cool of woodland glimmer
where subdued carpet of wildest garlic
welcomes bluebell lush - there is magic here.
Tip-toe through and out onto agriculture's heartland,
plain, a land of muck spread nostrils taint
laboured and drilled to feed our land a plenty
Homeward then over style by lane side trickling ditch
bathed in the glory of cuckoo flower delight
a tease for orange tip butterfly's lilt.

All things i shall miss over this springtime of viral restraint.
Though yet I dream, recollect where, springtimes past were spent.
Youth of springtime manhood came and flowered in the light.
Forward looking, join me all, for next year - a summer's fete.

What beautiful words, and such a lovely song from the little girl. Thanks.

Or hopefully, late Summer fetes this year - in the Autumn?! A fine Spring write Dusk.

BRIAN HERE (Home Alone !) Thanks for sharing the Video - Awesome. I play folk guitar and that Performer is amazing. Such technique in both hands and a mature Voice & choice of Song - Beautiful ! Angela & I are blessed. At weekends we have a Wood close by and the bluebells are taking avantage of an open leaf canopy and less competition from other *wild flowers* early in the season ! There is also a lake & a stream and NO GATES !
Your POEM paints a beautiful Pastoral Spring Scene - Areas (like BEACHES & Open Air Swimming Pools - Golf Courses - Playgrounds) - no longer available to the majority - many of whom must view them dejectedly from the 18th Floor of *Grenfell Type Towers*. August ? Come she must ! Thanks for caring & sharing.

Blessings & Peace & Joy to You & Yours
    Love BRIAN & ANGELA 💛💛💛

Makes me realise I am blessed - I have this on my doorstep and take an hours walk every day enjoying nature at its best. What a fine write dusk.

Super write d a, I amd sorry that you have to stay in at this time, I feel I am fortunate in that I can walk briefly in the countryside and am able to see some of Spring in all its glory.
That young girl is super, she will go a long way.
